First things first. Jam Dreams, the new album by Mid-West weirdos Dr Manhattan, is already poised to be an album of the year contender. This is based solely on two nites in a row of ridiculously good live shows, and 3 brand new songs on their myspace (two of which were played at said shows). If you’re not hip to them yet, get to it. Totally radical dudes, completely ridiculous music. And yes, one of the best live shows I’ve seen (check Locals for pics). For those in North Jersey, they’re playing a basement show in New Brunswick on August 13th that’s going to be a spectacle and a half, I’m sure. The new album is out August 18th thru Vagrant Records.
